Moonland
“The moon has become a dancer at this festival of love”
(Jalal al-Din Rumi)
The Creation is highly inspired by texts of 13th century Persian poet and
life experiences of dancers and the choreographer.
A story about love, relationships, connection, longing for touch and
sense of belonging under the soft light of the moon. Taken as a
metaphor of a mystery, human desires and aspects beyond our reach.
45 minute pieces for four dancers driven by original music.
The dancers present us with 4 very personal and defined characters and
take us and themselves through a journey with their mesmerizing and
hypnotizing movements.
They explore connections in between them and society as well as
personal struggles and desires. On stage we can see the duality of
beautiful moments of intimacy and movement poetry in delicate solos as
well as strength and even forcefulness in group sections and duets.
The movement language is highly charged by emotions and theatricality
which is a result of distinctly personal creation process of the
choreographer and dancers.
As a result we can see each dancer’s uniqueness , color and human
aspect of performing.
Dancers: Ziv Halevy, Yossi Daniel, Gilad Goral, Geut Niv
